The history of CalmaMe

My name is Silvia and in 2013 I started suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.
I tried many different ways to overcome my issues and, after numerous different failed attempts, I stumbled across meditation...

Finding meditation

When I started working in a secondary school, I came to rely on meditation.
I would go home every day for my lunch break and would always set 15 minutes aside to meditate. This would help me stay focused, de-stress and get through the rest of the day.

An insparational moment

A while later I found out that my husband Andy’s mum, who is a nurse, was doing exactly the same thing but rather than going home for lunch to meditate, she would do it quickly in the lift at work, in the hospital. This was the inspiration Andy and I needed to create CalmaMe, that important space that is required to meditate properly.

CalmaMe’s birth

We bought an old dilapidated horse trailer and Andy spent every evening and weekend for over a year converting it, until finally CalmaMe was born.

Most of the meditations offered inside Buck have been provided by the amazing Gillian White, all the way from Alberta, Canada.
